Pledge of Lake Saimaa

I agree to be a responsible traveller and to act in accordance with the following guidelines.

WHEN EXPLORING NEW PLACES

I will respect nature and leave the environment as I found it. I take rubbish with me. I will keep pets contained.

I PREFER SIGNPOSTED ROUTES

and walk with purpose, respecting others and nature. I respect restricted and private areas.

I CAMP ONLY IN AUTHORIZED AREAS

I will not wash myself or dishes in the lake. I act in accordance with the rules of wilderness cabins and campsites.

I FAVOUR RECYCLING

by favouring recyclable products and sorting my rubbish. I use as few disposable products as possible.

I SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT

by informing hotel cleaning staff that towels and sheets do not need to be changed daily. I am also careful in water consumption. I turn off unnecessary appliances and lights when I leave the room to save electricity.
