Uhkua – sustainable nature experiences, nature accommodation and local food near Mikkeli, Lake Saimaa

PEACE OF NATURE Uhkua is located in the countryside by the Lake Saimaa in Mikkeli. The distance from Mikkeli is 50 km, from Helsinki 250 km. With us you will find the perfect place to immerse yourself deeply in nature and the local lifestyle. We operate year-round and offer nature accommodation on a floating raft, guided nature tours and food services for small groups, as well as camping equipment rental. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, and food made from local and homegrown ingredients is our passion. NATURE EXPERIENCES We provide ready-made experience packages or our guided activities can also be tailormade for you, whether it's camping, hiking, paddling, snowshoeing, fishing, foraging, a sauna experience or eating a fabulous meal outside in nature. Or maybe a combination of these. We also organize atmospheric dinners in our old log house and transport customers on our small fishing boat to Lake Saimaa to enjoy the food and lake scenery. ACCOMMODATION AND SAUNAS Our floating accommodation is an excellent place to break away from everyday life. Accommodation raft and sauna raft, both built from recycled materials, can be reached by rowing boat. There is no electricity or running water on the rafts, so you get to experience a simple but overwhelmingly comfortable accommodation experience in the peace of nature. Compost toilets can be found on both rafts, and on the terraces you can enjoy the beautiful lake views and take a cooling dip in the lake. We also deliver a basket of local delicacies for an extra fee. In addition to the raft sauna, we also rent an old log sauna and a small tent sauna, which can be easily transported to a suitable place in nature for example. Uhkua's saunas offer a wonderful experience for small groups. The saunas can accommodate 4-6 people at a time, and the rafts can accommodate a total of 12 people/raft. If necessary, the rafts can be combined to hold larger gatherings.
